Philadelphia, PA—Breaking Glass Pictures is excited to announce the June 3rd DVD and VOD release of Rajeev Nirmalakhandan's The Odd Way Home, starring Chris Marquette (Alpha Dog, Fanboys, The Girl Next Door) and Rumer Willis (The House Bunny, Wild Cherry, "90210"). Supporting cast includes Brandon Sexton III (Seven Psychopaths, "The Killing"), Veronica Cartwright (The Witches of Eastwick, Alien) and Bruce Altman (Matchstick Men, Game Change). The Odd Way Home premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2013, to audience and critical praise. The Austin Chronicle raved, "Marquette positively shines as Duncan."
The oddest couple takes an unforgettable journey through the American Southwest, finding happiness in the unlikeliest of places and seeing in each other what no one else has seen before. Maya (Willis) is a product of childhood abuse who escapes her shattered life in Los Angeles and meets Duncan (Marquette), a hermit from a tiny town. Obsessed with pattern and routine, Duncan is a master of map-making and directions. Their journey is filled with unexpected surprises and hard realities. Maya learns how to care for someone else and Duncan discovers the world outside of his maps. They are alone in the world, but together they redefine the notion of family.
Sara Voorhees of KOBTV said, "A beautifully subtle and compassionate performance from Chris Marquette that reminded me of Leonardo diCaprio's in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? Totally charming and unexpected."
The DVD release of The Odd Way Home (SRP $24.99) will include Six Letter Word, a short film about autism starring Rumer Willis, and a behind the scenes featurette.
